WELCOME TO THE FIELD OF PLAY!
Real-world analytics inspiration from football, sport and beyond

Field of Play returns to Manchester for its latest edition, bringing together the most inspirational and experienced voices working with data across football, sport and beyond.
At its heart, Field of Play is about practical impact. This is not really a conference about abstract models or theoretical frameworks. It is about how analytics is actually being used to shape decisions, improve performance and change the way sport operates day to day. Football sits at the centre - as is right for a conference based in the UK's football epicentre - but the defining feature of Field of Play is the way it looks outward, learning from other sports and industries to broaden perspectives and challenge familiar ways of thinking.
You will hear real stories from practitioners working at the sharp end of performance, recruitment, product, decision-making and communication in many sports and other industries. Each talk is grounded in lived experience, focusing on what works, what does not and what it really takes to turn data into results.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Field of Play is designed primarily for data professionals, analysts and decision makers working in football and other sports, who care about applying their work in the real world. Underneath it all is a simple aim: to help move the industry forward by bringing diverse voices into the room, sharing hard won lessons and raising the standard of how analytics is understood and applied across our games.

On the day, expect a mix of talks, discussion and practical stories from people working at the sharp end of sport and analytics. Some sessions will be recorded and shared after the event, but not all. We deliberately keep a number of talks exclusive to those in the room, which allows speakers, particularly from clubs and elite environments, to speak more openly about real challenges, decisions and lessons learned.

The event includes lunch, and tea and coffee throughout the day.
